Tarbert Harbour

The village of Tarbert sits around the circumference of the harbour in an attractive horseshoe shape Sailing visitors to Tarbert, Loch Fyne, cannot fail to be impressed by the oustanding beauty of the harbour when they first enter East Loch Tarbert, although the natural elements are slowly being removed in favour of largely undesired insensitive development.

The harbour itself is the focal point of the village and historically a very important asset, home to a small but productive fishing fleet and a harbour with facilities for sailing yachts. The harbour itself for the inner part contains a traditional stone wall designed and built by Thomas Telford, supplemented by stone new walls, seating and makeshift pathway.
